The thoughts we have mould the way we view and navigate the world. We create the reality we live in by repeating the thoughts we have, and the more we think them the stronger they become.

So this January, be mindful of the thoughts you have and how they might be creating your reality.

There is a movement towards setting themes and intentions for the full year, rather than single resolutions you can "fail at" or forget by the end of January.

The Wheel of Life is a great tool for deciding which area(s) of your life you want to give most attention to.

Which of these are you going to focus on this year? Writing it in the comments will make that more likely to happen as you commit it to words and to others 😊

Therapy is many things.

It is self care.
It is release.
It is both preventative and restorative.
It is important but not always serious.
It is supportive.
It is empowering.
It is freedom.
It is progress.
It is small steps.
It is giant leaps.
It is courage.
It is kindness.

It is so very worthwhile.

Perhaps 2026 is the year you embark on your therapy journey. Browse over 200 Cognitive Hypnotherapist profiles on the QCHPA Therapist Finder.

The speed we do things is a cue to our nervous system as to whether we're safe. Doing every task at high speed, from brushing teeth to washing up, as if our life depends on it will leave us feeling constantly on edge.

Intentionally slowing down the basic tasks will help to ease tension this Christmas time.

Will you be trying this?

A glimmer can be the smallest moment that feels joyful, safe or light. Searching for those can be a positive contrast if the days around Christmas generally feel heavy or hard.

Look for the glimmers as they are out there and they can give your mental wellbeing a little boost.
